An Introduction to Biological Medicine

This article offers an introduction to the background and the use of complex Antihomotoxic products in Health Care.  The remedies are based on the principles of Homotoxicology, which can be fully applied to mainstream medicine.  During the past sixty years, a great quantity of knowledge from both scientific studies and from use in practice, has been gathered from the use of these remedies in all fields of Health Care.
Demand is growing for effective, long-term medication that can cure or at least alleviate acute and chronic diseases such as arthritis, eczema, bronchitis and heart disease without subjecting a sick or injured organism to further damage or side-effects.  Homoeopathic preparations provide the organism with a means of effectively treating and reinstating its health safely, effectively and economically.  This is not to say that conventional (allopathic) medicine and surgery do not have their place in the treatment of acute and life threatening conditions when suppression of severe symptoms is required.  Yet Homoeopathy serves as an excellent supplement to chemical therapy even in cases such as these, for homoeopathic treatment provides the body the opportunity to repair itself, rebuild immunity and regain balance.

  • Deals with Chronic and Degenerative conditions

  • Deals with acute and Life-threatening conditions

  • Works primarily by excretion and detoxification

  • Works primarily by Suppression of symptoms

  • Creates Balance (Yin/Yang)

  • Creates Imbalance

Homoeopathic preparations offer complementary therapy for some of the acute and more chronic conditions refractive to orthodox medical treatment.  Each medication has been proven to be exceptionally valuable in clinical use by G.Ps. , Vets and the link.  Homoeopathy works in harmony with nature, in accordance with natural fundamentals and interrelationships and is truly a biological therapy.  Biological/Homoeopathic therapy concurs with the principles of consumer protection, animal protection and environmental protection.

Why Biological Medicine?

More and more people are choosing biological medication in the case of illness for themselves and their animals.  The grounds for this is a growing "holistic Health" awareness, as well as increasing concern over the risks associated with artificially synthesized drugs.

What does the term "biological medicine" really mean?

Biological medicine means treating more than just the diseased organ as the liver, kidney, heart or joints.  The patient, be it human or animal, is seen as more than just a set of mechanical "parts" to be repaired or removed, but more as a whole and interrelated energy system with the ability to balance and maintain itself- if looked after properly!  This concept is reflected in biological therapy.  It means helping the body heal itself through

1) Removal of toxins,
2) Activation of its own defence mechanisms and
3) Maintenance of balance within the system.
Both Homoeopathy and Homotoxicology engender the concept of biological medicine in that they provide aid and stimulus to the body's self-healing capabilities.

The Nature of Disease

Disease is the activity of the body to maintain balance.
Reckeweg's Theory-intake of Toxins as a cause of disease.
Disease (dis-ease) is a bodily reaction to eliminate toxins.
Clinical disease is the processes of the body attempting to detoxify and eliminate toxins.
Disease are the biologically appropriate defence reactons against
Endotoxins and Exotoxins.

The Nature of health?
What is the preference for the organism:
Freedom from symptoms?? Or  Freedom from Disease??

What is Homoeopathy?
"Simila Similibus Curanter" ("Like cures Like").  These three words describe the basic theory behind homoeopathic medicines activate and reinforce the body's own powers of resistance.  The self-healing of the body are stimulated and strengthened. "Like cures Like" means that the very elements which cause complaints are often used to cure them. In 1790, Samuel Hahnemann, a doctor and pharmacist, tested the effects of cinchona bark on himself, in an attempt to find a cure for malaria.  He found that the bark  triggered symptoms in a healthy person could be used to treat similar symptoms exhibited by an ill person.  Hahnemann's research was the 'Origin of Homoeopathy' (homios=like; pathos=illness). Since then a great many more tests on medications were carried out by Hahnemann and the doctors, homoeopaths and scientists who followed him.  Extensive experience has been  gained in the treatment of illness in humans and animals, with homoeopathic medications.  These can be found in published form in the numerous journals on the science of homeopathy.

In addition to the simile principle, where a dilution  of the same element which causes disease is used to treat it, the individual sensitivity of patients (modalities) and the constitution of the sufferer are of fundemental importance.  Homoeopathy is a treatment based on experience and careful observation of the course of the illness and the progress of healing.  Homoeopathic preparations are not just effective symptomatically; they also attack the causes of the pathological process, reinforcing the self-healing powers of the body.  (Unlike synthetic chemical medicines, the efficacy of  homoeopathic medication is based exclusively on observations in human and animal clinical cases. (It is NOT pharmacologically tested on laboratory animals).

  • Why are homeopathic medications diluted?

For the most part, medicinal substances used in homoeopathy are derived from plants and organic material.  They are diluted, or attenuated (homoeopathically processed), in order to prevent the body from reacting too violently to the medicine.  An alchol solution is used to attenuate medications taken as drops, while milk sugar (lactose) is employed for those in tablet form and sterile isotonic solution for sterile ampoules.

    What Is Homotoxicology?

Expanding on the fundamentals of homoeopathy, the physician Dr. H-H. Reckeweg developed homotoxicology during the late 1930's.  Homotoxicology views illness as the body's natural process of defence against disease causing material known as homotoxins - Substances toxic to man.  These can be internal or external toxins derived from diet, chemicals, pollution, trauma, stress and drugs.  The body's defensive process against these accumulating toxins manifests itself in a variety of ways in different illnesses, such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea, inflammation, coughing, infections, and other afflictions ranging all the way through peritonitis, pleurisy and pneumonia to cancers and fatal diseases of all sorts.  In contrast to single remedies used in homeopathy, homotoxicology uses "Anti-Homotoxic" combination therapies.  GRAPHICS!

    How do antihomotoxic preparations work?

Because toxic illnesses are multi-factorial and effect a wide range organs and systems in the body, antihomotoxic preparations contain a multitude of medcinally active, homoeopathically processed substances which support each other in their action so that they have broader spectrum of activity and can treat a range of conditions related to the disease process.  Added to this they are easy to use in comparison with the administration of several single remedies.  Each component amplifies the effectiveness of the othersm providing an effective aid to even complex pathological processes. Anti-Homotoxic preparations activate the bod's own defence system, there by neutralizing the disease causing homotoxins which the body then expels.

For which diseases can antihomotoxic preparations be used? Anti-homotoxic medication is successfully employed in treating chronic and debilitating illnesses and in cases where conventional medicine often offers no real options for improvement. It is a particularly adjunct to the existing range of allopathic medication.

    therefore therapy needs to be
    COMPLEX and MULTIPLE

  • Dosage of Biological Medication:

    Tablets and drops:
Homoeopathic medicines work very well when absorbed through a mucous membrane, i.e. Absorbed from the surface of the inside of the mouth rather than being swallowed. Drops and tablets (crushed or whole) can be applied directly into the lower lip or buccal pouch (inside the cheek next to the teeth) or under the tongue.

The tablets have no intrinsic taste and it is possible to mix them with a little still water without them losing their effectiveness. The drops are suspended in an alcohol solution and may not be suitable for use in cats.

It is recommended that the ampoules are used for small animals if possible.

It is preferable to administer medication between meals.

In animals difficult to dose, other methods are possible. Crushed tablets mixed with a little honey can be spread on the part of the animal where it tends to lick itself for example on the cat's nose or front paws. The same procedure applies to drops. If absolutely necessary it is possible to mix drops into some dry biscuit or bread or insert tablets into a piece of cheese or meat. This however, tends to be swallowed whole, which may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. It is best not to handle the medication~ but if you do make sure your hands are clean and dry.

For chronic (long standing) disorders the routine dosage is three times daily. With improvement this may be reduced to three times weekly.
